Why I Build

By Cameron Speck

I have spent my career building companies around one idea: when people get healthier, everything else in their life gets better. Their work, their relationships, their confidence, the way they show up for the people who count on them. I want to be known as the guy who builds companies that help people flourish.

My vision

Most people are not sick. They are dysregulated, overstimulated, disconnected from their own bodies, and running lives their nervous systems were never built to hold. They have been sold intensity when what they needed was capacity.

The work is simple and almost nobody does it. Release what disconnects you from your highest potential. Relentlessly practice what brings you closer to health, to leadership, to service, to God and to yourself. That is not a wellness program. That is a life.

My job is to build the environments where people flourish: the rooms, the companies, the communities and the systems that make that life possible.

My mission

My mission is to build the companies and systems that let the best people in health, fitness and wellness help more people build real capacity, with less friction and better results.

Through OS HQ, my team builds AI operating systems for coaches, clinics, doctors, wellness clubs and health brands. Built on OS AI, those systems handle the work that buries a founder: capturing and following up with leads, booking, onboarding, and keeping every client from falling through the cracks, so their teams can spend their time on care.

The next step is a new company I am building in peptides and longevity, where every product is backed by an expert and by proof you can check for yourself. Trusted experts, verified products and measured results, all under one roof.

I hold myself to a simple rule: you can't manage what you refuse to measure. Proverbs 27:23 says it too: "Know well the condition of your flocks." A good business knows its numbers, and a good health plan knows its markers.

My why

I co-founded Fitplan with my partner Landon Hamilton. We put the programs of top athletes and trainers into anyone's pocket, scaled it to $10M in annual recurring revenue and exited in 2021. It taught me what a single good system can do, and what scaling fast demands: hiring well, managing cash, and the discipline to keep going when things get hard.

Most of all, it taught me that the people doing the real work in health, the coaches, doctors, clinicians and trainers, are usually the ones with the least support behind them. They are brilliant with clients and patients, and then they spend their nights chasing leads, answering messages and fixing bookings. Their business runs on them, so when they stop, it stops.

Every hour a great doctor or coach spends on admin is an hour they are not spending on the person in front of them. Every lead that slips through the cracks is someone who wanted help and did not get it. Building better systems is not a technical problem. It is a health problem.

There is a line from James Clear that I come back to constantly: "You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems." It is true for a person trying to get fit, and it is just as true for a clinic trying to grow.

I do all of this from Miami, as a husband to Nicole and a dad to our daughter. They are the real reason I care so much about getting this right.

That is why I build. If you are a coach, doctor or founder who wants to help more people, I would love to hear from you.
